In nail care, hygiene is essential. It ensures your clients' safety and reflects your professionalism. Here is a simple 4-step guide to effectively disinfect and sterilize your manicure instruments.
✨ 1. Disinfection: the first barrier against infections
After each use, immediately disinfect your instruments.
- Use a professional disinfectant product
- Fully immerse the tools
- Respect the recommended action time and concentration by the manufacturer
🧼 2. Pre-sterilization cleaning: remove residues
Before sterilizing, clean the instruments:
- Using a special brush or an ultrasonic bath
- Then rinse them thoroughly with clear water (4 to 6 minutes) to remove all traces of disinfectant
💨 3. Drying: prevent oxidation and contamination
Instruments must be completely dry before sterilization.
You have two options:
- Air drying
- Or in a drying cabinet at 85°C
🔥 4. Sterilization: maximum safety
Two sterilization methods are recommended:
💧 With steam (autoclave) – Most reliable method:
- 132°C at 2.1 bars for 5 min
- or 121°C at 1.1 bar for 15 to 20 min
🌬️ With hot air (dry heat sterilizer) :
- 180°C for 60 min
- or 160°C for 150 min
Use appropriate sterilization pouches to keep your instruments clean until their next use.
