In the nail care industry, hygiene is essential. It ensures the safety of your clients and reflects your professionalism. Here's a simple 4-step guide to effectively disinfect and sterilize your manicure tools.
✨ 1. Disinfection: the first line of defense against infections
Disinfect your instruments immediately after each use.
- Use a professional disinfectant product
- Immerse the tools completely
- Respect the contact time and concentration recommended by the manufacturer.
🧼 2. Pre-sterilization cleaning: remove residues
Before sterilizing, clean the instruments:
- Using a special brush or an ultrasonic cleaner
- Then rinse them thoroughly with clean water (4 to 6 minutes) to remove all traces of disinfectant
💨 3. Drying: prevent oxidation and contamination
The instruments must be completely dry before sterilization.
You have two options:
- Air dry at room temperature
- Or in a drying cabinet at 85°C
🔥 4. Sterilization: maximum safety
Two sterilization methods are recommended:
💧 Steaming (autoclave) – The most reliable method:
- 132°C at 2.1 bar for 5 min
- or 121°C at 1.1 bar for 15 to 20 minutes
🌬️ With hot air (dry heat sterilizer) :
- 180°C for 60 minutes
- or 160°C for 150 min
Use suitable sterilization sachets to keep your instruments clean until their next use.
